If you’re anything like me, you’d rather listen to local radio. That satellite, streaming, online thing isn’t really my thing. Unless of course, I’m on a road trip – then I’ll use Spotify or stuff I’ve downloaded on iTunes. Moving to Boise and finding stations that I liked was first on my list (well…maybe not first, but it was up there). I wanted to reprogram my stations in the car so I got to scanning and listening for what I liked. I wanted to listen to something other than the fuzz that was being broadcast from my previous programmed stations.
I think my taste in music is pretty diverse so I tend to add all kinds of varieties. I have to add a plug for country music though. Idaho has got some of THE BEST country stations! They play classics and tunes you haven’t heard for a long time. They mix it up with some of the newer stuff (I think they call it bubblegum country because it’s a little bit pop-country), but you still get a great amount of classic gems.
So, here’s a little breakdown of the stations that I’ve found by genre. Remember that some of the stations have a short broadcasting distance so not all the stations will work in all areas of the Treasure Valley. This is not a complete list but covers most of them.
