Regions of Idaho

I remember watching the news during our first month and wondering where all these places were that they’d mention. 6 On Your Side gives regional weather forecasts and I had no clue where the hell the Magic Valley was, or what cities were included in the west central region. I didn’t even know that the Boise area was called the Treasure Valley.

I’ve tried to find a few good maps to help so you don’t feel like a complete idiot (like I did).

Treasure Valley: Boise, Meridian, Nampa, Emmett, Weiser, Vale, Eagle, Star, Kuna
Magic Valley: Gooding, Twin Falls, Shoshone, Burley
West Central: Cascade, McCall, Donnelly, Council, Riggins
East Central: Stanley, Sun Valley, Fairfield
Panhandle/North: Sandpoint, Coeur d’Alene, Kellogg, Moscow, Lewiston
Eastern: Idaho Falls, Rexburg, Island Park,

I remember rolling into town and feeling like I was totally out of my element. I didn’t know anything about B-Town and all of the sudden, I was craving connection. I was comfortable in my small Utah bubble. I had friends and family, I had a great job, I knew where the closest grocery store…

If there’s one thing I’ve learned in the last 6 months, Idahoans LOVE Idaho! There’s a lot to love, it’s a big state. I don’t know if Idaho just has a really cool shape or what, but they love their Idaho car decals. Nearly every car I pass has something. I think it’s fun! Utah…

Establishing Residency when getting an Idaho Driver’s License

One of the most nerve-racking things about moving to a new state can be proving that you are now a resident of that state. This is especially true if you are visiting the DMV and suddenly find that you don’t have the proper identification and are turned away after waiting seemingly forever to speak with…

  • Idaho Drivers

I LOVE Idaho drivers! Coming from Utah where everyone drives 85 mph and 1″ from your bumper, it is so nice to be able to turn your blinker on and have someone actually let you into traffic. Shocking! Some would argue that Idaho drivers are awful – but it’s been a pleasant experience for me…

I’m sure that Idaho is full of amazing Realtors. We were connected with Lori through a friend in Utah. She has an endless amount of energy and she’s spunky! Lori worked tirelessly to help us in our home search. Our search involved several weekend trips from Utah, FaceTime walkthroughs, phone calls and emails. It was…
